What is Vastu Science?

Vaastu includes a multi-disciplinary approach in designing an enhanced living. It is a system which includes science, astronomy and astrology at the same time. It covers the influence of sun, moon, earth’s atmosphere, direction of wind, magnetic field and gravitational force on human beings. So, the science of Vaastu provides a practical guideline to selection of a site, its level of contouring, orientation of the building as per climatology, rooms as related to the different activities of the proposed building etc. Vaastu Shastra which is the underlying science of Bhawan Sthapatya Kala, is one of the eminent representations of our ancient heritage. The whole universe consists of five elements- earth, water, fire, air and space and Vaastu principles impart balance and harmony among these five elements.

The exposure of these rays is negative for health. If these rays are not blocked effectively by contructing lofts, stairs, heavy objects or store rooms in the south western area they will harm and disrupt the normal metabolism of the body. For instance, if you are sleeping with your head towards North, your heart will have to pump more to regulate the blood circulation against Earth’s magnetic field and this may cause Blood Pressure.

Are there any ways to rectify Vastu defects without choosing the process of demolition?

Yes, there are various techniques to rectify Vastu defects without choosing the method of demolition. The first method is the Spiritual method, where the Vastu defects are rectified using pooja, hawan, yagya, placing pictures, idols etc. However, this method can provide peace of mind but cannot correct Vastu defects entirely. It is a fact that spiritual method helps to release a lot of positive energy but the essential energy for Vastu is missing in this process. The second and most beneficial method is a virtual medium, where any doshas or defects are rectified without the application of any major changes. In this method, not only is the Vastu of building corrected but also the Vastu of land is rectified. This method of correction involves using highly energized products such as Placing healing Crystals, Healing Crystal grids, Copper Rods, Pyramid Stones and Gems, Chemicals, Oregon, Energy plates etc. These products possess the ability to produce a high level energy in the area surrounding it. This method is not only most effective but at the same time quite cheaper than the traditional method. Sometimes, products such as wire, calcium, colors etc. are also used in this method.

What is the meaning of ‘House/Office Energy Correction’?

When a building is not built as per a harmonious and balanced flow of energies, the occupants experience life-problems because this imbalance generates negative vibrations. It is through the application of House/Office Energy Correction that the cosmic energy-fields of the plot are made harmonious and rectifications are done on the physical plane, like changes in the building structure if possible as those directly impact the overall energy flow. On the second plane that is the energetic plane, different elements, healing crystals and other applications to subtly enhance the positive quality of the energies are used.

What are the Energy Beams produced from the Eight directions?
There are 8 directions that can be applied to every house or plot. Every direction possesses its own distinct character and power on the space. The 8 lords, in the form of Ashta Devas, regulate the supply of Geo-energy (cosmic energy) at the optimum level that is required for the inhabitants. Ashta devas help to bring more happiness and profits to the inhabitants, if the Energy Beams of 8 directions of any structure (house/ building) are planned properly according to Vastu.

First and foremost, the selected land should seem to possess life. A land where there is a growth of plants and trees is considered to be lively. Compound wall construction is similar to dressing the vaastu purusha of the land in which construction is to be held.

How can Panchabhootas be best utilized in Vaastu?

The concept of five elements or panchabhootas forms the foundation of vaastu shashtra. The entire creation as the shastras say is composed of these five elements namely the earth (prithvi), water (jal), fire (agni), air (vayu) and space (aakash). All the advantages and benefits are bestowed upon a house and its inhabitants by the proper placement of these panchabhootas. Building a house in a harmonious relationship with the elements can ensure peace, prosperity, wealth and happiness at home.

Prithvi- Mercury is the ruling planet of this element. It imparts intellect and decision making abilities to the human body. Its deficiency causes a negative impact on these abilities. The south west or nairitya corner of a house is considered the main area of this element. According to vaastu shastra rules, heavy structures should be built and placed at this corner. It is the ideal place for the construction of master bedroom, stairs, water tank etc.

Jal- Venus and Moon are ruling planets of this element. Moon rules over the water in the body which nourishes it. Deficiency of water element produces lethargy and stress. The ishan kona or north east is the best direction for jal or water. The nature of water is to flow downwards so the floor of the house should be sloppy towards the ishan kona or north east corner. Outdoor and indoor features such as swimming pools, aquariums and water fountains should be located in this direction.

Agni- Agni has a special significance in the panchabhootas. Agni represents power, energy and heat. Sun is the main source of all the three mentioned on this earth. Sun and Mars are the planets of this element. The fire element is responsible for energy and heat in the human body. Deficiency in it hinders development of the body and lowers the body resistance to fight diseases. As per vaastu, the agneya kona(south east) is considered as the direction of fire. Therefore all the activities in the house related to fire should be carried on in the south east corner. Placement of generators, cooking appliances, heaters, stoves, electricity meter should be constructed here. By building the kitchen in this direction, the fire element can be balanced.

Vayu- Saturn is the ruling planet of vayu element; it rules over the air that circulates within the body. In vaastu shastra, the north western (vayavyay kona) is the chosen direction for this element. It is very important for the inhabitants of a house to get a regular supply of fresh and clean air. Breathing clean air leads to a healthy and fit life. In order to get fresh air supply, vastu shastra suggests that the eastern and northern directions should always be kept open and their levels should be low so that sunlight and fresh air of the early morning greets the house every day. To balance the vayu element, one should build living room, garage, animal sheds, etc in the north-western corner and maximum number of doors and windows need to be built in the northern and eastern walls.

Aakash- Jupiter and Dragon’s head (Rahu) are the ruling planets of this element. It is directly connected with the environment and spiritual life of a person. In vaastu shastra, the central courtyard of the house is regarded as the place related to aakash or sky.  It is called the Brahmasthan. This should be kept open as it lets in a fresh supply of air and lets out the polluted air. Keeping the central zone open also helps to allow maximum sunlight and heat. The central zone should always be kept empty and clean in order to balance the space element.
